Therapeutic approach

I work with experiential therapies.

Couples and Relationship Therapy Couples therapy can be about rebuilding and strengthening your relationship or going separate ways. Therapy can assist in working with infidelity, identifying and resolving conflicts, improving communication, and looking at emotional & sexual intimacy. ​

Trauma Informed Somatic Therapy uses an approach that works with the innate wisdom of the body. It is gentle, allowing what emerges in the session to guide the process.  This is body-centred approach works with one's natural bodily somatic responses, and the nervous system to initiate healing.

Grief Therapy aims to support one in their grief journey, addressing the physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual responses to loss. Grief therapy helps identify stages and types of grief. It addresses loss in various areas of life such as death of a love one, life transition, move, divorce, loss of job.

Narrative Therapy This therapy is a way of working with one's narrative to re-frame, re-author and empower problem saturated themes and patterns in one's life. It prefaces that one is the expert in their own lives and focuses on the problem being the problem not the person being the problem.

Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy aims to use mindfulness as a way of supporting emotional development, building resiliency and overcoming feelings of personal suffering. ​This therapy works to bring mindfulness to life struggles and to respond with compassion and kindness.

​Solution Focused Therapy Using a future-oriented, goal-directed approach to solving problems of living.The focus is on the one's wellness rather than the problem, on strengths rather than weaknesses, and on skills, resources and coping abilities that would help in reaching future goals.

​Art informed Therapy promotes therapeutic techniques that encourage creative expression of ones' thoughts, feelings to facilitate improvement of mental and emotional well-being. Clay,  collage, colour and/or journaling are used to explore aspects of the self through symbol, meaning and metaphor.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) This approach provides a framework to identify, question and transform the thoughts, attitudes and beliefs related to one's emotional and behavioural reactions that cause them difficulty, by looking at and understanding thoughts during upsetting situations.

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - Whole Life Psychotherapy - Walkerton Location - 8:30am-6:00pm
Monday, Wednesday - Whole Life Studio - Durham Location - 8:30am-6:00pm
Fees: 
Consultation Phone Call - (by request) 15 min: Free
60 minute session -
$150 (including HST)
90 minute session - $165 (including HST)

Sliding Scale:
In an effort to provide accessible services I provide  a limited number of sliding scale spaces. This is done on a case by case basis. Payment is due at the time of your session.

Benefits and Insurance Options

Please note that Psychotherapy is not covered under O.H.I.P. Many Health Care Benefits and Insurance companies cover Psychotherapy. Some extended health benefit plans may cover some or all of the costs of counselling with a Registered Psychotherapist. Please verify with your insurance plan whether you have coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). I will collect your payment directly, and you will then be provided with a receipt to be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company in advance of starting therapy to determine your annual coverage and whether you need a referral from a medical professional, as each insurance plan is different. 

Cancellation Policy

The session is a commitment for yourself. Please make every effort to attend your scheduled appointment. I do understand that things arise in life and in the event that you must cancel, I respectfully request 24 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments with no notification will be subject to the full session fee.
